Petition Launched

The City of Victor Harbor has launched a community petition calling on the South Australian Government to waive stamp duty for first homebuyers purchasing an existing home in regional SA, up to the first $750,000.

High housing costs and upfront fees can make it harder for young families and professionals to buy their first home. This petition aims to make home ownership more affordable, attract and retain younger residents, and support stronger, sustainable communities.

Sign the petition in person at Victor Harbor Library and Civic Centre (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm), Victor Harbor Visitor Centre (daily, 10am-4pm), or Coral Street Art Space (Wed-Fri and Sat, varied hours). Businesses and community groups can also register to display the petition form.

The petition is open December 2025 - April 2026, with a target presentation to Parliament in May 2026.
