The City of Victor Harbor released its draft Recreational Boating Strategy for public consultation in December 2025, inviting the community to have its say on the future of boating infrastructure in the region.
The Strategy, developed with input from the Boating and Marine Facilities Advisory Group and key stakeholders, outlined a long-term vision for safer, sustainable, and fit-for-purpose boating facilities across Victor Harbor. It included proposed upgrades to existing ramps and the investigation of a new Eastern Boat Ramp and associated marina facilities, while improving boating safety, access, navigation, and amenities, supporting environmental protection, and meeting the region’s growing boating demand.
Community Feedback
A significant amount of feedback was received on Council's Draft Recreational Boating Strategy during December and January, with around 700 community members, organisations and groups formally submitting their views.
The Council's Boating and Marine Facilities Advisory Group will now consider this feedback in-depth before providing any proposed changes to Council Members for consideration.
