The City of Victor Harbor is proposing to make Almond Avenue, Victor Harbor a one-way street. If approved, vehicles will only be allowed to travel westbound (from east to west) along Almond Avenue. Only emergency services and authorised service vehicles (operating under the requirements of all the relevant Commonwealth Acts) shall be excluded from travelling in the eastbound direction along Almond Avenue.

The proposal was initiated by residents of Almond Avenue with the aim of improving safety. The proposal lowers the risk of frontal vehicle collisions, especially when the carriage way is so narrow. It also reduces maintenance and replacement costs of the carriage way as a full width and bidirectional road is no longer required. It is important to note that Kullaroo Road will remain a two-way road.
